This one-day conference on 8 November 2019 at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health aims to provide relevant information on these therapies to nurses, GPs, hospital and community pharmacists, and other allied healthcare professionals.

Cell and gene therapies have the potential to transform how we treat patients. With more therapies going through clinical trials and onto the market, there is a need to provide specialist training to the healthcare practitioners who will deliver these new advanced therapies or be involved in the care of patients receiving them.

This one-day conference on 8 November 2019 at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health aims to provide relevant information on these therapies to nurses, GPs, hospital and community pharmacists, and other allied healthcare professionals.

The field of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) has evolved rapidly and lack of training for the wider healthcare professional community could potentially be a major bottleneck for the delivery of cell and gene therapy in the NHS.

This event will deliver a broad overview of the scientific basis of cell and gene therapies and their applications. Alongside this, speakers will provide insight into the scope of therapies currently in development across different diseases with examples from clinical trials in addition to first-hand accounts from a patient perspective on receiving cell and gene therapies.

The conference will provide attendees with the opportunity to discuss their training needs within this field and help shape how education and training programmes could look in the future.

The conference will run from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm with refreshments provided. The cost for the event is £25.
