MedCity's CEO Sarah Haywood has been honoured in the 2017 Power Part Time List. The list, which recognises the achievements of part time workers in key business roles, is published annually by Timewise. It aims to create more role models, debunk the myth that you cannot deliver in a top job in less than full time hours, and change the conversation on how businesses recruit senior talent.

Sarah started working on the launch of MedCity in 2014 while at London & Partners, the Mayor’s official promotional agency for London. She was appointed Chief Operating Officer at MedCity in the summer of that year and subsequently took on the role of Chief Executive Officer in December 2015.

MedCity was founded as a collaboration between the Mayor of London and the city’s three academic health science centres – Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre, King’s Health Partners and UCL Partners – with the aim of promoting and growing the world-leading life sciences cluster of England’s Greater South East.

Commenting on the honour, Sarah said: “I’m very proud to be featured in the 2017 Part Time List which would not have been possible without the support of MedCity’s fantastic, hardworking team. Flexible working is a great way to reconcile both my work life and my family life and I hope this list will inspire employers to invest in flexible recruitment.”

Other part time workers recognised include former England international rugby player Matt Dawson, now Director of Business Development for The Instant Group, and Morwen Williams, Head of Newsgathering Operations at the BBC.
