Small companies that begin in the SBC bio-incubator (or indeed other bio-incubators around the UK) will need room to grow as they develop. This is the role of the Accelerator. The building is split between laboratories and offices and provides 44,000 sq ft of working space. MRC Technology, a medical research charity, relocated its drug discovery activities to the campus in April 2016 and occupy the two top floors. The ground floor is available for smaller companies.
There remains 45,000 sq ft of available lab space including write-up area on the ground floor of the Accelerator building which could be divided into 2 labs.
Alternatively, “walk-in” laboratories from 250 sq ft to over 1,000 sq ft, with adjoining write-up areas become regularly available in the incubator building.
